Nebenan: Zwangsarbeit

Am 12., 13. und 14. April 1945 wurden die Menschen in den Lagern und Krankenbaracken der REIMAHG von der US-Armee befreit. Doch erst einige Wochen später, am 8. Mai 1945, vor nun mehr 75 Jahren, erfolgte die bedingungslose Kapitulation Deutschlands.

Die Ausstellung »Nebenan: Zwangsarbeit« ist dem Andenken der überlebenden und ermordeten Zwangsarbeiter und Zwangsarbeiterinnen der REIMAHG gewidmet. Den Überlebenden und ihren Familien gilt der besondere Dank des Ausstellungsteams.

Die Inhalte dieser Ausstellung wurde im Rahmen des Projektes »Thüringen 19_19 Demokratie lernen« erarbeitet. Sie erzählt die Geschichte der Zwangsarbeit bei der REIMAHG am und um den Walpersberg bei Kahla und ihre historischen Kontexte, Vor- und Nachgeschichten.

RIGHT NEXT DOOR: FORCED LABOUR

The forced laborers in the camps and medical barracks of REIMAHG were liberated by the US Army on April 12, 13 and 14 in 1945. A few weeks later Germany unconditionally surrendered on May 8, 1945, now more than 75 years ago.
The exhibition »Right Next door: Forced Labor«, which we are presenting on the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II, is dedicated to remembering the survivors and the murdered forced laborers of REIMAHG. The survivors and their families deserve special gratitude from the exhibition team.
This digital version of the exhibition will eventually become available in analog form for schools or other public institutions to host. It was developed with the cooperation of the project, »Thuringia 19_19 Learning Democracy«.
The exhibition tells the story of forced labor at REIMAHG at the Walpersberg near Kahla, its historical context, as well as pre- and post-history.

Storie della porta accanto: Lavoro coatto.

Il 12, 13 e 14 aprile del 1945 l’esercito americano liberò i deportati e le deportate nei lager e nelle baracche sanitarie della REIMAHG. Ma solo alcune settimane dopo, l‘8 maggio del 1945, settantacinque anni fa seguì la resa incondizionata della Germania.

La mostra „Storie della porta accanto: Lavoro coatto.“ inaugurata in occasione di questo anniversario, è dedicata alla memoria dei lavoratori e della lavoratrici coatte della REIMAHG – di quelli uccisi e quelli sopravvissuti. Un ringraziamento speciale da parte del nostro Team va alle loro famiglie per Il sostegno datoci.
La mostra mobile, per il momento a disposizione in forma digitale, in futuro anche in forma analoga, è stata sviluppata nell’ambito del progetto »Thüringen 19_19 Demokratie lernen«. Racconta la storia del lavoro coatto presso la REIMAHG alla collina del Walpersberg vicino a Kahla e i suoi contesti storici, gli antefatti e postfatti.
